My passion for martial arts started when I was 9 years old and went to my first karate lesson.

I now hold a 5th Dan Black belt in Karate and a 3rd Dan Black belt in Taekwondo.

I opened my first karate club in 2001 in Greenmount, and in 2009 opened a taekwondo club in Rossendale.

I am fully insured, first aid trained and have an Enhanced DBS (formerly CRB).

As well as teaching martial arts, I have competed at a national and international level for over 15 years.

Before retiring from international competitions, I was a member of the TAGB England Taekwondo team.

I have won multiple British, European and World championships.

As a mum of three young boys, I know how important it is for children to have a safe, structured environment which gives them the opportunity to gain confidence and develop resilience.

Martial arts helps develop children's motor skills, concentration and fitness - whilst at the same time having fun.

My two eldest boys have just started their martial arts journeys!

"Both my sons have been attending karate with Claire since they were 5 years old and they are now 11 and 13.

Through attending weekly classes they grew in confidence, as well as fitness.

They both gained their black belts after 6 years and have since taken up taekwondo with Claire. Her high standards and brilliant teaching means that they have progressed at a pace which is right for them.

I would (and have) highly recommend Claire' s karate and taekwondo lessons. We have never looked back!"
